We are a small professional breeder. We limit our kennel to twenty-eight dogs, which we keep at two locations. At our Dorr Michigan location which is our home we have fifteen dogs, our kennel is heated and air-conditioned, and has out door exercise runs. We have a separate area for our pregnant mothers and puppies which has its own climate control. At this location there are three of us that take care of the dogs. At our other location we keep 13 dogs, that kennel is also heated and air-conditioned and has exercise runs .There are two people that take care of those 13 dogs. This allows each individual five to six dogs each, to work, play and groom each dog. Because we are semi-retired this is our only job and responsibility, so we can give our dogs all of our time each and everyday.
It is always a good idea to visit the kennel and inspect their operation, meet the parents ( Sire & Dam) of the puppy you are thinking of purchaseing. This can be done by appointment and you are always welcome.
As German Shepherd Puppy Breeders we breed to the German Standards using VA or V rated dogs that
are Schutzhund titled and also koerklasse. They also have the
German "A" stamp and ZW ratings for hips.
We
breed with Imported German Shepherd Dogs that are out of the Top
Producing dogs in the World.

show our dogs in the German, North American, and USA Sieger
Shows.
" All of our dogs are either German "a" stamped or have OFA hip certification. This would be true in the entire family tree, ( generations ) as far back as x-rays and certifications existed."
At Kolenda Kennels we only breed with the German "a"2 or OFA good or better. This is the highest standard used by any kennel in North America. It is scientifically known that if all dog's were bred to this high standard, it would reduce the chance of hip dysplasia immensely. As a buyer you should always ask about hip certification.
Kolenda Kennels is inspected by Allegan County Animal Control Annually and is State Licensed.
Kolenda Kennels is in the elite group of the few Professional German Shepherd Breeders that show their dogs in the North American, and USA Sieger shows. Sieger Shows are a requirement to comply to the German standards for breeders. These shows are where they bring in the German judges, breed wardens and koermeisters. Kennels compete for breed ratings that improve the breed. This has to be done under German Regulations.
